How to Download PDFLinkr for Windows

If you have been creating digital planners for some time now, you know how tedious hyperlinking them in your chosen platform can be. It's not hard, but it requires a lot of clicking and scrolling. If you are looking to create your digital planners more quickly, PDFLinkr is the tool you need.

This program, created by a digital product creator tired of manually hyperlinking digital planners, speeds up the linking process. You can make your digital planner in the platform of your choice and then export it before linking it. You then upload it to PDFLinkr, and by running a few processes, you can link the entire planner in under 30 minutes.

Downloading PDFLinkr for Windows

Select the “Download” button either on the checkout page or from the email you received after your purchase is complete. The link will take you to a page with 5 files available for download.

The first thing you should download is the PDFLinkr Instructions.pdf, which is the last file on the list. This will give you access to tutorial videos and documents that will help you learn how to use the program, as well as detailed instructions on how to download.

The two files you need for Windows will have “WINDOWS” in the title. In the screenshot above, these file names are PDFLinkrWINDOWSV4_62.zip and Linkr_CSVWINDOWS.zip. However, these file names are subject to change.

Select the blue “Download” button next to the first Windows File. You will need to select where to save the file; I usually choose my desktop. Please note: if your computer prompts you with an error when scanning for viruses, it's simply because this is a zip folder, so select “Allow Anyway” to continue the download process.

When the file has downloaded (it takes 10-15 minutes), select it to open your File Explorer. Using your mouse, select the file, then select “Extract All” from the toolbar.

On the pop-up window, select “Extract”. This will open a new window with the extracted files.

The option to show extracted files when complete is checked, and there are 'Extract' and 'Cancel' buttons at the bottom.

Double-click the new file to open the PDFLinkr Application.

You may receive an error when you open the file, but if you select “More Info” your computer will allow you to select “Run Anyway” to run the application.

You have now downloaded the main operating system for PDFLinkr! You can repeat this process for the other Windows file, which will be for “Baby Linkr.” (More on that later.) The second file is much smaller than the original, so the download process should be quick and painless.

How PDFLinkr Operates

When you open the PDFLinkr application, you will notice two screens appear. One is a dos-type, black screen that hangs out in the background, and the other is the PDFLinkr Home Screen. Leave them both open.

The Black Screen

The dos-type screen logs all of your actions in PDFLinkr for that work session. If you run into an error with linking, you can copy and paste the information in the dos-type screen and send it to the creators of PDFLinkr via their Facebook group or email to get support. This is an excellent way for them to know exactly what happened and how to correct it for you.

The PDFLinkr Home Screen

The PDFLinkr Home Screen is where all of the linking magic begins. The most common buttons you will use are the “Add PDF” button when you want to upload a digital planner to be hyperlinked and “Merge PDFs” for files that are too big for Canva and need to be merged. Now, you can merge them and link them all in one process.

The interface includes buttons for batch processing, a KDP PDF formatter, and links to a sticker creator, the newest version, and the YouTube channel.

Baby Linkr

The final part of the PDFLinkr system is Baby Linkr. This added tool allows the end user (that's us) to use any platform we want to create our digital planners. Before Baby Linkr, you had to create your digital planners on certain platforms for them to be compatible with the program.

With Baby Linkr, you can quickly create the CSVs needed to complete your digital planner and get it listed in your Etsy shop, no matter where you created the product.

The interface includes options to create a CSV, reset the fields, and exit the tool, with additional settings for daily, weekly, or custom CSV creation.
